The Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) is internationally recognised as one of the world’s leading eGambling regulators and has been in operation since the year 2000. The Commission is independent and non-political and its regulatory and supervisory approach has been replicated the world over.
An experienced team of specialists ensure that the AGCC remains as innovative today as it always has been, setting the pace in respect of the regulatory framework for the industry. Its risk-based approach to regulation provides a regime that is flexible enough to adjust the level of regulation, depending on the activity of the operator.
The AGCC’s primary objective is to protect and enhance the reputation of Alderney as a first tier regulatory jurisdiction by ensuring that:
- All eGambling is conducted honestly and fairly and in compliance with good governance;
- The funding, management and operation of eGambling remains free from criminal influence;
- eGambling is regulated and monitored so as to protect the interests of the young and the vulnerable
And without compromising the primary objective, to work with other agencies in the development of eGambling activities regulated by the Commission.
With operators seeking global growth and trouble free access to markets, inter-jurisdictional cooperation is critical. Alderney has more MOUs with international jurisdictions than any other regulator to assist licencees to maximise their commercial opportunities. The AGCC remains committed to working with governments and other regulators around the world to ensure that operators are not burdened with double taxation or dual regulation obligations.
